Spring officially arrived: it’s time for light clothes, outdoors strolls, extra hours of sunshine. So, what’s better time in the year for planning a nice trip in a sunny city than now? From beautiful Sevilla with its “Feria de Abril”, to Paris with its amazing Champs-Èlisèes, throughout the beautiful historical center of Siena, here you have five ideas for your next Spring getaway!
A medieval jewel surrounded by the Tuscan countryside: a postcard landscape. Siena has so much to offer to its lucky visitors: enjoy a walk in a sunny Piazza del Campo, afterward visit the wonderful city Duomo, and enjoy the springy wind from its bell tower. The best way to end the day is with a Tuscan style dinner: you have to try pici al sugo di cinta senese, a traditional first course, served with a good Chianti wine and then the Siena sweet delicatessen “Ricciarelli”. Siena is easily reachable by train and bus!
During springtime Seville means just one thing: Feria de Abril, the traditional city fest visited by millions of tourists from all over the world every year. Women dressed with traditional clothes, men on horses, flamenco and red wine at every corner, a never ending party going on for an entire week. And Sevilla is full of highlights: the big city cathedral, the beautiful Arabic Alcazar, the sunny Plaza de España. This year the Feria begins on Sunday the 30th of April and ends on Sunday the 7th of May: book now a flight for Seville, don’t miss this explosion of colour and traditions!
Spring is the perfect season to enjoy the beauty of Cagliari, the Sardinian pearl, not yet assaulted by tourists. “Casteddu” (castle in Sardinian language) is truly a city rich in history and culture, in all its many sides: enjoy a nice walk on the Poetto promenade, visit the historical neighborhood of the Castle, with the Cathedral and the Pisan Towers, take a swim in the clear water of Cala Cipolla beach, close to the city. And finally, eat: you can try some cheese “malloreddus”, served with a glass of strong “Cannonau” wine.
If it’s true that, as Victor Hugo used to say,”breathing Paris is good for your soul“: spring is the best time to do it. The “Ville Lumière” is always beautiful, but in springtime it gives its best. Enjoy a long weekend in the most romantic city in the world: visit all the beautiful art exhibitions, from Vermeer and the Fleming masters at Louvre to the wonderful “Chtchoukine” collection at Vuitton Fondation. You can walk along the Champs-Èlysèes, watching the sunset on the Seine river from Canal Saint Martin, having a nice French dinner in one of the many brasseries in town. Getting to Paris is easy, you can land in one of its three airports or just taking a bus from Milan.
A charming seaside city at the center of one of France coolest and chicest areas. Nice has so much to offer during springtime: let the nice climate of Cote Azur cuddle you, walk along the Promenade eating an icecream, enjoy the sunshine lying down on one of the many beautiful beaches nearby: our suggestion is going to Villefranche-sur-Mer and visit its charming bay. And just in case the weather won’t be that good, don’t worry: Nice has 19 museums, casino and clubs where to dance till dawn.
Well, Spring arrived, the good weather and the sunshine too: not it’s time to leave for a sunny and nice weekend!
